How to Deal With Heatstroke


If you are experiencing a rise in body temperature that is high enough to make the body feel very hot, maybe you're experiencing heatstroke. Heatstroke is a condition in which body temperature can reach over 40 ° C or more. Heatstroke can be caused by the increase in environmental temperature, or high activity that can increase body temperature.
Common symptoms of heatstroke attack marks such as: nausea, seizures, confusion, disorientation, and sometimes loss of consciousness or coma. This heat can lead to deadly complications or causes damage to the brain and other internal organs.

1. Recognize the signs of heatstroke
Heatstroke have some symptoms such as excessive fatigue, shortness of breath followed by abdominal pain, anxiety, rapid heartbeat, fainting and vomiting may be severe.
2. Drinking water
When your body is experiencing a sudden reaction to heat, drink water. However, be sure not to drink water that is too cold, as this will trigger a negative reaction from your body. For prevention, you should drink plenty of water throughout the day.
3. Moved to a cool place
When a person shows signs of heat-related disorders, the first thing to do is to move into a much cooler place and avoid exposure to direct sunlight. Remove all unnecessary clothing. If the situation does not improve, get medical help immediately.
4. Drink water before exercise
Avoid to consume a sports drink (sports drink) and switch to drinking something more nutritious and natural like coconut water. While doing the exercise, the human body needs electrolytes to replace fluid loss.
5. Avoid consumption of aspirin or drugs to relieve pain
If you have suffered a heatstroke, take medications such as aspirin will not help reduce high body temperature, it will create complications.
6. Beware of certain diseases
People who experience health problems like heart disease, diabetes and obesity should be extra careful because they are very susceptible to heatstroke, especially into the summer. People with diabetes can easily become dehydrated if their blood sugar levels are not controlled.
